Unga Special #5

The Unga Special was inspired by guitars I was working on (PRS Santana 1 & 2, and Yamaha SG2000). I wanted those guitars in a longer scale length, lighter weight, and with a bolt-on neck. I chose the hardware based on the pickup colors of brass and silver. The northern ash for the neck and body is showcased in the minimal wax finish and adds a crisp, mid-accentuated tone. The 6-Way Pickup Selector allows the neck and bridge pickup to be played together as well as all the regular positions. The tone pot modification pulls the mids out and gives the guitar more tonal versatility. It is indeed very “special”.
